Six Senses has announced the grand opening of its first-ever property and spa in the Caribbean, called Six Senses La Sagesse.

With a picturesque beachfront setting and surrounded by verdant hills, Six Senses La Sagesse features 56 pool suites and 15 villas, providing a serene escape for visitors. The resort emphasises guest wellbeing through its design, prioritising natural light, spaciousness and the use of eco-conscious materials.

Central to the resort's offerings is its spa, designed to leverage the location’s abundance of fragrant spices with medicinal healing properties, along with local community knowledge, age-old traditions and indigenous plants and herbs.

Six Senses has harnessed these to create wellness programmes focused on sleep, movement, yoga and longevity. The spa also offers high-tech and high-touch therapies, guided by in-house specialists and visiting practitioners.

Overlooking a lagoon, the spa's design is inspired by a traditional Caribbean fishing village. Facilities include a biohacking recovery lounge, a pool, indoor and outdoor relaxation areas and a communal outdoor wet area with a panoramic sauna, a hot pool, a plunge pool and a Kneipp therapy pool.

In addition, the spa features a 24/7 gym, a Longevity Center and separate male and female changing rooms each equipped with a steamroom, showers, lockers and a private relaxation courtyard.

Meanwhile, the Alchemy Bar – which can be found at all Six Senses resorts – allows guests to create potions and remedies using spices and herbs native to Grenada.

Additional facilities
Beyond wellness, guests can also enjoy culinary experiences at the resort's three restaurants, two bars and a bakery, showcasing the flavours of the Caribbean.

The resort's offering is completed with an Experience Center offering unique experiences to connect guests with Grenada's Spice Island heritage and learn about its culture and way of life. This includes farm-to-table cooking, Caribbean-style high tea, waterfall dips, rainforest hikes and visits to dramatic coastlines.

Thomas Fehlbier, resort GM, says: “Grenada is divided into six parishes, and La Sagesse, which is in the South-Eastern parish of St. David, has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years.

“It is filled with vibrant energy, and we’re delighted to be opening our doors and welcoming our first guests to discover this unique location.

“Our hosts, many of whom were born and raised minutes from the resort, along with the neighbouring community, are full of pride and all-embracing. We’re immensely grateful to be breaking the mould and inviting the world to experience a side of Grenada that remains an incredible purity and remains somewhat undiscovered.”

In addition to relaxation and dining, Six Senses La Sagesse offers opportunities for guests to engage with Grenada's culture and natural heritage. The Experience Center provides activities such as farm-to-table cooking, Caribbean-style high tea, waterfall dips, rainforest hikes, and coastal exploration.

Developed by Range Developments, the resort's commitment to sustainability is evident in its design, which incorporates native flora and preserves the natural ecosystem, including a thriving lagoon teeming with wildlife. Six Senses La Sagesse aims to offer guests an authentic Grenadian experience while promoting environmental stewardship.

As part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, Six Senses continues to expand its portfolio, with 25 hotels and resorts currently in operation and plans for further growth
